where to have my fbi finger prints sent too?

When you get the results from your fingerprints, you will get a letter from the FBI stating you have no arrest record (if that's the case). I'd recommend you wait to send it all together, because if you do not send it with your application, there's a possibility CIC may send it back to you as...

Yes, he has mail forwarding in the US to a friend/old roommate - nothing has shown up in the US, but his mailing address on e-CAS, even before we got Decision Made, has always been my home address (he signed off on me being his representative, so all CIC communication has gone to me so far).

Got COPR! Landing questions and vehicle concerns

Thanks, OhCanadiana!! That clarifies things. His car is already here in Canada, but if legally he can drive it for activities related to the importing of the vehicle, that will be okay. In the meantime, we can share my car for everything else.

Advice on how to visit partner, get married, and apply outland.

My husband and I recently made the trip by car from California to BC and didn't encounter any trouble when crossing. Although I (the Canadian) was with him, which helped, I think. We had our PR application filed in July and he came up here at the beginning of February with his car packed up...

Got COPR! Landing questions and vehicle concerns

My husband's car is here in Canada, too. When he went to land as a PR, did you drive a Canadian plated car?

Got COPR! Landing questions and vehicle concerns

We're in a similar situation .. just waiting on my husband's COPR as well .. I had thought we could add his car on his Goods to Follow form and import it a little later (1-2 months later), but from this thread I'm guessing we should plan to import the car when he lands?

I have a similar question. We received PPR on February 7th, emailed the scan on February 11th, went into process on February 17th and now listed as DM and we're still waiting for COPR. When should I get worried? I wouldn't normally worry, except there was a Canada Post truck that went off the...

So glad to hear there's more movement for July applicants! I'm flying down to the US tomorrow to drive back with my husband to Canada. Hopefully we'll here something soon so he'll only have to be a visitor for a little while. :)

    US outland applicants' thread :)

I found this on an expats forum that says the Non Resident Alien spouse doesn't need an ITIN unless the American plans to claim him or her as a dependent: http://www.expatforum.com/expats/expat-tax/99946-us-taxes-married-nra.html Of course, I have no idea what the credentials of the poster are...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Did you call the IRS to ask? I may have to do that. Someone on that thread (StateofConfusion) said, 'I actually called the IRS and asked them how I should file since my husband is a nonresident alien (Canadian) and doesn't have a social security number or an ITIN. And since he didn't meet...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

I was just reading over this and another thread on US taxes: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t96575.0.html Sounds like this form is needed if we file jointly. I think we will just have him file as 'married but filing separately' so he doesn't need my tax...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Thanks, Parker! This is really useful information. You may or may not know the answer to this, but here goes: We married in 2012, and for the rest of 2012, my husband has lived in the U.S. He will be coming up to Canada to wait out the rest of the PR process in Canada in February. I'm...
