Yeah I think as mentioned before, that the longer validity the passport has, the longer a work permit. It doesn't really matter since everybody should be landed within a year or so. My passport runs out in 2020.

OMG OMG OMG!!! I received my OWP in the mail just now! It's valid until 2017 which is a long time. So awesome! Trying to get my sin number tomorrow! Time to hand in those resumes 8)

13 months and still waiting, trust me, some people wait a long time to get their PR! Whether it's married or common law. I think most people try and visit and stay together as much as possible, extend the stay to get that whole year in, start getting joint bank accounts and maybe a shared lease.

Never received my OWP in the email, and the call centre guy I last talked to this past weekend said that it would be there by 2-4 weeks. Not sure what to think :) got AIP on January 8th!

Hello guys! Things are looking a little brighter now that I finally got some useful answers! Called alberta health and the nice lady issued my number right away, so I can get a regular check up. Also called the CIC call centre, and they were yet again so nice and he issued a new OWP to me...

I don't think our joined bank accounts were from 12 months before either. As mentioned before get as many statements from friends and family to state, any tickets bought flying out here. Pictures, plenty of pictures!
