    December 2018 - Citizenship Applications

Looks like Ottawa office has woken up. Have seen many November applicants and one December applicant get their Test Invite. This is good, at least we are seeing some movement. No updates on my side for now.

    Where are all Ottawa Applicants?

No updates here, still waiting on Test Invite, December applicant.

    December 2018 - Citizenship Applications

I do some of the online citizenship tests, I'm sure the format is not exactly the same but it gives a reference point in terms of what to expect. I really don't think it's meant to be difficult, IRCC just want to make sure you've at least read the book and know the basics of how the Government...

Liive in Hamilton but Application sent to Mississauga , Why ?

Canada's requirements are relatively mild compared to the USA or European countries such as the UK, France and Germany. Just as an example, you have to reside at least 5 years in order to be eligible for the naturalization process in the UK and France (in the case of France, you need to have a...

Liive in Hamilton but Application sent to Mississauga , Why ?

You guys have to realize that even 16 months of processing time, put in balance against the benefits of having Canadian citizenship for the rest of your life, is not that big of a deal. Sure, the variance between the fastest processing times (based on 2018 data, around 5 months) and the slowest...

    Where are all Ottawa Applicants?

Good to know man, thanks for sharing. There is absolutely no reason to worry or anything, it's just a slow process and we have to give these things time. For the most part, what your GCMS notes say is consistent with what folks like dpenabill and spyfy have already told us: criminality checks...

    November 2018 - Citizenship Applications

Brilliant news, very happy to see some movement from the Ottawa office. December applicant here, but I hope that we will see more movement in Ottawa applicants very soon.

    December 2018 - Citizenship Applications

No, don't torture your heart over this :D. No movement from Ottawa still, I guess they are really over-worked these days. Not sure whether IRCC does any off-loading of files to offices in other provinces. I don't mind if IRCC schedules a test interview for me in Alberta or BC haha

    December 2018 - Citizenship Applications

Sooo fast, 3 weeks for the Test invite in Ontario, that's amazing. Also: I am surprised to see people receiving correspondence from offices which are not their closest offices. Perhaps the work-load is being shifted, as mentioned in other posts. Ottawa office seems to be at a stand-still right...

    Where are all Ottawa Applicants?

December applicant here, got AOR on February 14th, In Process on March 14th. Been waiting since then. All we can do is wait, agonizing over what IRCC is or isn't doing is pointless, or why some offices are faster relative than others. I really don't get why people are so restless about this...

    October 2018 - Citizenship Applicants

It would be nice to know which applicants got called. At least it would give a reference of where the office is at in terms of workload. If the majority of applicants are from June or July 2018, fine: at least we know that.

    October 2018 - Citizenship Applicants

I doubt IRCC processes applicants faster ahead of federal elections... But sure: it's always nice to hear that they offer to attend ceremonies earlier than expected, it's in their own interest to reduce backlog of applications. (December applicant here, I'm just dropping by to check movement of...

    December 2018 - Citizenship Applications

Based on my reading of the threads from August to December, there is a clear trend that offices in Winnipeg and Calgary are moving quite a bit faster than the rest. The wait time between IP to Test Invite is certainly smaller (1 month or 6 weeks). Of course there are still people in BC, Quebec...

Do I have to surrender Indian passport before applying for e-visa to India ?

It's clear you don't understand what Indian law says. Which part of "Persons of Indian origin are required to surrender their Indian passports immediately after acquisition of foreign citizenship" do you fail to understand ? Your laws are pretty clear.

    December 2018 - Citizenship Applications

No action or updates here, although we know that Ottawa office is much slower, relative to e.g. Calgary office.

will citizenship rule change in 2020?

While it's premature and speculative to talk about what the outcome of the next federal election will be and how that will affect immigration in Canada, one thing it is helpful for is to get further insight into how the Canadian government works, generally speaking. I wasn't aware about Bill...

I think byrwus' point was more that this person was never on the forum sharing their timelines and just pops out of the blue. You have been active here and sharing your timeline whenever there were updates on your side. rohi_bwp just drops a fait accompli on byrwus.
