We didn't use a lawyer either. Filled everything ourselves and sent the police certificate.

Yes I did read that last week Missha, although I'm not sure that the 2011 applicants will actually see this benefit as a new bill will probably take a while to get passed and then actually applied. However it is hopefully good news for upcoming applicants who have the education and work skills...

I think it was a reference to the wait times page on the CIC website :) We keep our eyes glued to that page :D

I called the call center to check on some docs that we sent as per CIC's request and was informed that there was a backlog starting july for opening mail. And if I sent something on august, I should expect it to be opened in a month or so... that doesn't sound encouraging :(

I had the same issue too hakri. For the most up to date address I did not put the word "to present" for the time period and they asked me to refill it, even though no where on the website gives you examples that you need to do that. I sent it back and it was received but the website has not...
