I think Sydney's pretty good compared to others. Ottawa has been the slowest of all.

Same here. I agree that it breaks every other day - that's also probably why their Twitter handle has stopped posting information on system outages :p

I understand your frustration. I am actually in the exact situation - dependent outland and waiting for Ottawa office to start screening after biometrics. I am hoping they transfer our files to another office like Sydney which can process applications normally. Please keep us posted.

@legalfalcon - If the security background check hasn't started, does this mean it will take a minimum of 110 days from now? I believe you mentioned that's the average time it takes?

Exactly the same status and AOR. The agent on the phone said they haven't started my security/criminality yet. Hoping that they will transfer our files to some other VO if they can't handle the workload.

Same here. The technical issue is still ongoing. The website malfunctioned and sent me 5 emails saying 'We're still working on your application."

Really? Did they provide any specific information though? I tried calling them multiple times but they said they don't have any information (different agents said the same thing). They said they have forwarded the information to Service Canada. Honestly there is no transparency around the new...

Dial their number. Keep your phone on the side for 2 minutes and 10 seconds - that's when the automated message finishes and it gives you options. Then choose 2 (sponsor a family member), then 1 then 0. You will most likely be put on wait for 27 mins (their default).

If you missed the call the second time - you go back into their queue. You will have to wait for your turn again. Unfortunately this is their process. I confirmed with Immigration customer care.
