Congrats on getting the visitor visa! When did your wife apply for the visitor visa? Just trying to get a sense of how long it took to process that.

Wow!! Sydney Visa Office is processing July 2018 applications...meaning applications that were submitted just two months ago. That's a little hard to believe considering the CPC office gives AOR1 one month after receiving an application. Anyways, if that is the case, lucky them.

I suggest following up with you MP office and letting them know that the 12 month mark will pass in 2 weeks so you’d like to receive an update on the status of the application and what’s taking so long. Good luck

Wow that’s not good advice. U should tell them other MP offices are more involved and give updates every 4 weeks. Maybe then they’ll keep checking on ur application

Personally I think raul_sk should do MP enquiry and keep following up on the status of the application. It's not normal to be waiting for 15 months to have the application finalized and you don't know how much longer you'll have to wait.

FYI - I was told that the security check is to confirm all the information listed in the Schedule A form. Just to give you an idea of everything they check.

I think you're thinking about police clearances - in the guidelines they only request a police clearance for countries where the stay is over 6 months. But in terms of security I think they check all countries that you have visited regardless of how long the stay was.

I was told that checks will also be done from countries that have been visited (ie less than 6 months stay) - that might be why our security is taking so long.

I know because when I did MP enquiry, they followed up with Immigration and then they informed me that all steps are passed and now they are processing security which is the last step.

According to your GCMS notes, are the other steps in your application approved? Criminality, medical and eligibility? Did you get prearrival letter?

I did MP enquiry exactly one year later, on June 6, 2018. They have been providing me updates on a monthly basis until now but the application has been stuck in security since May 2018. I actually just got off the phone with them and they said they’ll try and escalate it since it’s taking too...

And btw I’m pretty sure they give DM and PPR after security is done too (that’s the last step of the application). So maybe they’re doing the security for u now which is causing the delay. I suggest ordering GCMS notes if u haven’t already done so.
