I sent my application package this morning. I included quite a stack of photocopies of my travel documents. But I think I might have ommitted a copy of my driver license.

I'll be sure to post in sackcloth and ashes if they contact me requiring the US certificate, in the event it happens. I don't expect this will happen. I missed requiring one from Europe by only 3 days due to business travel. :)

I called the IRCC about this yesterday as I have been commuting daily cross-border for work as a temp. Their answer was if you don't stay down there overnight, then the day does not count toward the 183 day criteria for a police certificate. I was relieved.

Others have asked same. Perhaps for a certain answer, call IRCC at 888-242-2100 or just put a contact/chair in the department office of your faculty or the university main office.

I listed my NEXUS card and US Passport card. They don't have a field to indicate document type so they'll have to figure out that from the document number format (each of the book card and nexus card have unique document number formats).
