    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Haven't even thought to look at this forum in ages. When I was going through it was basically understood we were in a batch that had just gotten the shaft in the spring of last year. Reading some of the last pages I'm thankful we got through when we did because it has gotten SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much...

I don't know if it's the same for everyone but my COPR and counterfoil said they expire a year to the day after I did my medical which was about 2 and a half months after I got PPR. It's the getting them the passport that's REALLY time sensitive. 30 days from PPR if memory serves me. THIS is...

Nah, you're pretty golden just be straight forward at the border. They can see on their computers you've been approved.

You'll likely find that number useless. We did anyway. If you're in Canada on a visitor record it will have a client ID. That can also be used for Ecas with the info of whichever of you it is that's on a visitor record as it turns out. That number also appeared on my visa counterfoil and my PR...

From experience your list does not need to be so detailed as to have serial numbers. Just a general estimate of what you have. Landing will be one of the easiest most painless things you'll do in your life. Good luck.

Used to live in Wolfville and did that drive both ways numerous times. Just did it a few weeks ago coming from Newfoundland back to Ontario. You going to Calais/Ste Stephen or Woodstock/Houlton? I dunno if you've ever been but Calais is easier if you just wanna flagpole and get right back out of...

I argued the point of my last post to great length with the woman at Service Ontario, but I didn't have a print out in hand. Come to think of it we may just go back down there armed with that and fight them tooth and nail. Most of us on this forum are pretty experienced at THAT by now ;D

Exactly, but as I said all they would accept to back date my coverage was a CIC letter with those exact words. I can show them letters emails things from CIC explaining what AIP means and of course E-cas printouts from every step of the process, (we liked to collect those for border crossings...

On Service Ontario's website it says if you are "approved in principle" (i.e. sponsorship is approved) but when I tried to get mine back dated getting my health card after I got PR they were real sticklers for having a letter in their hands from CIC that said "approved in principle" which in all...

I've had good and bad experiences crossing both ways, and at various crossings. The only time I really had problems with the Americans since starting the PR process was when the Canadians "refused" me entry. Buddy just wanted to see a couple of my American pay stubs and I had to run home (5 min...

The easiest way we found, that is if the border isn't too far for you, is to just do exactly what you did to get the first visitor record if your application isn't already done. It costs nothing but your gas and time if you're close enough. We only live about an hour away from Michigan, and went...

We got an email back in July that had both file numbers on it (after we prodded Buffalo) but when we got the COPR it only had the F number, so I can almost agree with some of the previous speculation of them just being in a transition period from B to F numbers. No worries, man, you're on your way.

CAN I LAND IN ONTARIO AND MOVE TO SETTLE IN QUEBEC IMMEDIATELY ON A ( CEC-PR) ?

You can land at any Canadian port of entry that has immigration officers. They just ask your address where you're going to be so they can send your PR card in the mail. If you're going to Quebec and you have a CSQ it doesn't matter where you land.

I was speaking with a guy in Buffalo who was getting his PR. He came over 4 years ago from Sweden with a a work permit. He worked through the permit and stayed on at the same job for a couple years after (overstaying his permit) and he was getting his PR through skilled worker WITH the same job...
