Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

We'll just have to wait and see. It is a new game of no rules. If the needle does start moving then it is good for us if not then twitter storms and the Parliament Hill... Still some result for today. I'm corking up a bottle of good old Glenfiddich to just steam it off. Cheers folks!

I have a crazy thought someone please help me

Still same advice: call CBSA. This is your best source. Please don't rely on opinions. If you can postpone till you have your passport then just do it. Out of my experience (I do need a visa on my current passport) US immigration is ALWAYS asking to show up proof of Canadian residency (my US...

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

Well, I didn't invent it, just read the page. Might be due to I)still being a pilot, ii) too many tests to check at least when they initially go live. We'll just have to see

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

Here's the wording I was referring to either in this thread or in another regarding tests. Interviews are not mandatory for all: After the test If you pass the test You may have to do an interview with a citizenship officer. If you do, we’ll contact and schedule you for an interview. If you do...

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

Nothing prevents you from doing so. Just add a line asking smth like "Interviews matter too!"))

I have a crazy thought someone please help me

Yep, would have to agree on the last note. But as said in my post better consult with CBSA, alternatively print out the forum pages and show them up to the officer on the way back. They are very convincing ;)

I have a crazy thought someone please help me

Would better call IRCC or even maybe CBSA with that. Problem is that you must have destroyed your PR card during the Oath, thus you would have to apply for a travel document. If your original passport allows visa free entry to the US then getting out of Canada should not be a problem, but once...

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

That's the other thing that is worrying. What might happen even if tests are done, but interviews are still required, but not conducted then they will simply push the crowd onto the next barrier that is not resolved and will not result in ceremonies.

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

Well, at least a bit of news. Even though it tells me nothing until there's live evidence of people being invited for the test. I would definitely not call back on the Saturday event at this time. There's still a couple of working days left including today to attest to the truthfulness of the...

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

There's a good one on this saying don't tell me what to do and I won't tell you where to go. Making friends or enemies is so natural in the case of one being exhausted, lost, depressed. It would be fair to say that the government has not done its best in the communication piece even if they...

How long notification of citizenship test prior to the test date?

As far as I understand from pre-COVID days it was anywhere between 1 and 3 weeks ahead. Now if they were to re-start the testing on-line, but with the same requirement as in the virtual oath of being physically present in the country (for which I see no logical reason as with the Oath applicants...

Deleted the original post. Was damn sure the web page used to say: after the exam you may be invited for an interview. Re-checked, says differently now. My bad
