My advice would be to stop relying on this friend's advice on such matters. His advice does not make sense. All the best for both of your applications.
You can surrender after 3 months without a fine as long as you do not use the passport. Keep it locked until the day you surrender. I think the deadline to surrender (without use) is 3 years, I am not exactly sure. But its definitely much more than 3 months.
3 months is the grace period you can...
Ok, couple % is very close (it maybe the second biggest popular vote trail for a winning President, but thats irrelevant). Lets take out California too from the stats. Now, cool down.
Can you replace husband? By all means
Can you replace husband "just" for the citizenship interview? No
But if you are okay to live in the constant fear of citizenship being stripped because of fraud, then by all means go ahead.
I know you have some good advice. So out of curiosity, I would like to ask -
For this specific case, can there be any negative repercussions if OP is seen as planning to leave Canada. I know intention to live is no longer part of the requirements. Its a highly subjective question, but still.
Find a better employer?
I didnt mean for you to apply L1, but rather this could be IRCC's way of thinking why you shouldnt deserve urgent processing. Even I feel this is case of communication between you and your employer, not something the IRCC will cater to.
But all the best, keep us posted...
Also to play Devil's advocate: and why cant you apply for a US work visa like L1 which allows you to work for 3 yrs. Your request could also be viewed as wanting to leave Canada while keeping citizenship. While that may or may not affect your actual application, I dont think it will help the...
Everyone will acknowledge that the circumstances you faced are not typical. Does it deserve an exception to be made to the rule? Maybe. Will an exception be made? I doubt.
I think it all comes down to how important is it for you to acquire Canadian citizenship for your children v/s how much...
You can use any self-made terms you want (full Canadian, quarter Canadian) but there is a flaw in your logic.
Say there is a Canadian woman (like your mother). She married a UK citizen (who was visiting Canada) and went on to live in UK. They have a son say George who is Canadian citizen (by...
They wont know at the time you use it, but later they can know. In case of India, if you need a lifelong visa, you are required to surrender Indian passport first. When you surrender, they will know when and how many times you have used Indian passport and they will fine you accordingly. Its...
Did they tell you how long its going to take for oath letter? I did the test in Winnipeg, and they said 4-6 months but closer to 4 months. For me, I need it anyways in Jan 2019, so wait is not affecting me as such.
We also need threads by region, by MP, by month, by party - every permutation and combination. ohhh...ohhh and threads on letters lost in mail. and like people go to MPs to complaint about IRCC, this time we'll have people going to IRCC to complaint about MPs.
which city do you live in? all requirements are on BLS website. do you have BLS office in your city. if yes, you can get all your questions answered in person. but likely, you can get all info on the website itself.
