Its not mandatory...just a supporting document..if you don’t have it, its fine..just try to provide as many number of documents as possible to prove your experience...

Your first option would be to get the notarized letter from your supervisor along with supporting documents like his card, screen shot of company hierarchy which shows you report to him etc. In case its not available, you can get it from a peer with similar supporting docs.

Yes email to CPC ottawa will give you generic response. I never called CIC, but I think after you bypass the IVR, you can actually talk to an agent, however I doubt that they will actually give you much details...if you are waiting for more than 4 months...my 2 cent is order gcms...

The only way to get detailed status of your application is by ordering GCMS note.....email or call will always give you generic response...

My fbi pcc was uploaded upfront...so not sure if the application will be on hold untill the pcc is uploaded..many folks are requested to upload PCC or other docs at later stage of the application....so I think it depends....however 6 months starts from your AOR...not after you upload ADR..
