    PINOY SEPTEMBER APPLICANTS (Spousal Sponsorship)

Hi, my uncle did this. But they didn't submit a sponsorship application in the Philippines. He came here (Canada) as a tourist then they submitted the application here. I think from tourist, they applied for a work visa. That was back in 2011 and until now he's not a permanent resident. From...

Poor us, September applicants. It feels like we've been skipped altogether. No one's posting in our thread due to lack of update. :'(

Kasi by the time you enter Canada that visa will be void. Your permanent resident card will be the one you'll use to go in and out of the country going forward. Congratulations! ;D

It probably depends on the purpose of your email. They responded to me as well when I reported a change in my spouse's contact information.

Hi, Can you clarify if you were told by CEM to just drop off your passport or you can just do that instead of mailing it back?

Actually, even if you are a PR you still need a US visa to go back and forth the US.

Steph, it's easy to get a US visa for Canadian residents. Just book an appointment at your US embassy there (doesn't have to be in Halifax). There will be an interview but it's easy. My sister and friends did it without any problem. I'm not sure how long the validity is though.

Did any of you consider approaching your MP for an update regarding your application?

I think this is correct kasi they have tight security in the office. You have to go through the guard at the lobby first. So it makes sense that the guard will receive it then have it delivered upstairs. I'm not 100% sure, of course.

Yes, you may. My sister did the same but there's no guarantee you'll get approved as a sponsor. After all, it's always up to the officer attending to your application.

I'm so bored waiting for a PPR I fixed the spreadsheet you pasted. Some of them just copied the value of days instead of the formula. Hahaha, geek mode! Anything to pass time. :-\

This is correct! I've been there before too to get my consent to marry as a Canadian citizen last year and it was a very small office. I chatted with the staff before and they told me that they close at 1PM (almost every day, I think) to work on applications.
