There are no way to check progress or status of application. You can just track delivery.

If it's possible , try to talk with employer about your issue. I'd same issue. I was short of 2 weeks of time and got laid off. I've talked to my employer and they kept me on payroll but was working from home and sometimes need to come office. Try your luck.
