Hi Bonnie, No word yet on my husband. They've now had his passport for 7 weeks. I received an email 2 weeks ago that they're still working on his ARC. So were now almost at 4 months waiting for the ARC to be approved.

I didn't send it right away as they have the power to not provide you with your PR. Remember if they determine you're relationship is not genuine, they wont' need the ARC. there's no forms for the ARC. it's just a letter you write outlining why you should be able to return. If you need help with that just PM me and I give you the outline of the letter I did for my husband.

if you lived in Canada for over 6 months unfortunately it is a absolute requirement.

He received the letter in the mail. My email is set up for correspondence because the passport request was sent through email but i think they will send the letter to your husband in order for him to bring with him to the police station so the police address the letter properly etc.

nope you can't put in the ARC until the Visa officer asks for it. If you go ahead and submit it ahead of time, it's like you telling the VO that they've given you the approval already when in fact it's their decision. You can't send the ARC until they request it.
