December 2018 AOR - join here

My passport reached CPC Ottawa 8/4 and I still haven't received any update yet. I am not sure if ordering GCMS immediately after PPR causing a small delay for COPR. I might email them directly to acquire the status of my passport just to make sure everything is ok.

You will not see any update on CIC portal until the final passport stamping is complete and ready to be mailed back. Usually 7-10 days after they receive it.

Most people got approved in 5-10 days though, and then another 2-3 days for it to be sent out. You can try https://myimmitracker.com/en/ca/trackers/passport-processing-tracker to estimate the...

I just want to add that most bank have a newcommer program where they give you free checking account (at least for the first year) and a basic credit card to start building up credit score. Also they might allow you to open the account through mail even before your landing and start deposit...

Quick question: CPC-Ottawa received my Passport last monday 8/4/19 noon time and I still have not received any email rejecting my photos or approved update on CIC portal after 1 week. Is this unusual ? I think most people I have seen here got an email rejecting their photos after 2-3 days, or...

My passport reached CPC Ottawa yesterday. I had good experience with CVS before since their printing machine has an internal automate QA check for head dimension, white balance and brightness etc. This time I had to go to Walgreens instead since my CVS just closed down and they don't even know...

It changed every month, then at 4 months it started showing 18 weeks, then counted down after everyweek. I am at 15 weeks now and the status bar is still 1/2. I believed there will be no change in CIC portal at all until the final COPR issued.

I agree. Someone said you don't have to pay tax for importing, but there are several fees + any inspection / repair that come up if the car doesn't meet regulation. Here is one older thread with detail explanation for anyone curious ...

Hello fellow Vnese. Don't worry too much, I forgot to put my middle name in the given name field during the application (I used first name last name format in the US for the last 10 years) and raise a CSE to correct this after MEP. As long as you correct the mistake early and not hiding any...

I think you should, most people on here recommend getting GCMS note at 90-100 days post AOR. Some even did them earlier. There is also a delay between asking for GCMS and getting them back so the earlier you do them the better you can plan ahead.

Do you have any video / channel that you recommend ? Also since you are from the US, are you planning on bringing your vehicle and do the Export / Import route, or you will get a new vehicle in Canada ? Haven't done the math so I am not sure which way is more economical for me.
