This is my updated timeline: OWP& PR Recieved April 3,2017 Start Processing. April 27,2017 OWP Issued May 5, 2017 Waited 16weeks Just picked it up July 25!!! Lord keep us through this process!!

When you call them tell them you applied for open work permit dont talk about the PR. Tell them its pass the processing time

You can see the status of your PR but never the status of LCP work permits. Thats been my experience even when a decision has been made? Its shows no information during the process ever

The immigration policy states that under LPC work permit should be issued. Not dependent on the eligibilty letter. Therefore as long as the application for PR is complete the work permit should be processed.

They could clear the backlog if they wanted to because how can you be moving in a direction to increase immigration if you have no staff to manage the cases. That's unfair to the poor workers who cannot physically do the processing. So the Minister in Charge of CIC needs to do something

The most hurtful part of this process is they dont even deal with the open work permit in a timely manner either. So you run yourself into all sorts of problems. What they should give you is an indefinite visa until this whole nightmere get sorted out

Why cant they just hire a bunch of people and just clear up the backlog permanently.
