I do not see this charges as big deal. There might be some other reason for the fingerprint request. May be your country of origin or your name which might match with some wanted person.

I called CIC today evening and I am informed that they have started working on my application today and they are doing backround check. Agent was very nice and he told me that I would see e-cas very soon as they had just started working on my file today.
