Express Entry Minimum Criteria Met But Worried

What is SOVP? Also, could this apply? We will be here 3 years next January: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/permit.asp

Express Entry Minimum Criteria Met But Worried

I mean not being able to work under R186. I'd probably need to apply to be able to study and work, but that's an area I've never looked at. I've no idea what options are available in that regard, if any.

Express Entry Minimum Criteria Met But Worried

Thanks! Even with a Bachelors for 112 and and LMIA for 50, that would take me to 458, which is a fighting chance. Get my wife to do the language test for an extra few points and we'd have a hope. Kinda wishing I didn't go to a private non-accredited school, even if the education was solid.

Express Entry Minimum Criteria Met But Worried

Since I'm here on R186(l) which limits what I can do (I'm basically restricted to my pastoral duties for the church employing me), what would I need to do to begin studying within Canada? I would consider doing a Masters, but not if I can't continue my ministry. P.S. How many points is it for a...

Express Entry Minimum Criteria Met But Worried

I didn't mean it to come across that we're superior to others, nor that it should be handed to us. But the fact is if the 600 points for an LMIA hadn't changed, I wouldn't be in any predicament. November's regulation change has put us in a right fix. But again, I appreciate all the help...

Express Entry Minimum Criteria Met But Worried

Thanks for the help. It all just seems so silly. I have permanent full-time employment in a job classified as 'A' and my wife has a Bachelor's in a classification of 'A'. We both have experience, are reasonably young, are born citizens of the UK, and yet the system works against us when we're...

Express Entry Minimum Criteria Met But Worried

Another job for me is out of the question, unless it can be done alongside what I'm doing (which isn't legal on my current visa). I'll move back to the UK before I do that. So really the only hope is a job offer for my wife. For a PNP, would it be acceptable if she had a work from home...

Express Entry Minimum Criteria Met But Worried

I received a reply from ICAS telling me, Unfortunately, if the study was completed at an institution which did not have Royal Charter to award degrees, we would not be able to provide a meaningful assessment. A certificate of equivalency issued by another institution would not be sufficient...

Express Entry Minimum Criteria Met But Worried

Thanks. Apparently clergy are not eligible to apply for the PNP in Alberta :(

Express Entry Minimum Criteria Met But Worried

Surely a Bachelor's recognized in Canada would be more than 50 points? No? That's why I'll contact the IQAS assessment guys to see if I can get an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA). If that isn't possible, then we'll go through my wife.

Express Entry Minimum Criteria Met But Worried

So it requires an LMIA (even though it was an LMO exempt position and I'm literally the only person, according to how the organization selects candidates, that's qualified for the position in the entire country). This is frustrating. I'm going to call the ECA guys in Edmonton on Monday and see...

Express Entry Minimum Criteria Met But Worried

My wife was self-employed for about 7 years. Why am I not getting points (up to 200) for having a arranged employment? I'm in a job I was offered and they want me to stay.

Express Entry Minimum Criteria Met But Worried

Thanks everyone. I studied at a private college in the UK, but I have a letter of equivalency for a Bachelor of Divinity from an accredited seminary in the USA. I don't know if that will work for an ECA?? My wife has a degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, but no job offer and no Canadian...

Express Entry Minimum Criteria Met But Worried

So I've been here for two years, working in a work permit exempt position R186(l). About a year ago I applied for Express Entry and was accepted in that I met the minimum criteria. However, my overall score is only 296 at present. We were going to apply for an LMIA (even though an LMO wasn't...

Quick questions about a dependant VR

Okay, so our daughter's UK passport expired and the VR she had when we entered was only dated to the expiry of her passport (May 23, 2015). We've got her new passport and we're trying to apply for the extension. 1. Applying online do you apply AS the child? If so, it asks if you're over 18 and...

    Clergy R186(l) question

I've a couple of other questions following from this (hoping to get over mid-January :) ) 1. Do I (or my family) need a medical for clergy work? 2. Can my wife apply for a work permit in order to work after we arrive in Canada? Thanks.

    Clergy R186(l) question

Thanks. That's a very helpful answer. P.S. I didn't realise I had posted twice. That was an accident. The site seemed to be playing up when I was on earlier.
