    Well if they offer it I would head to Dertroit and do it. Buffalo offers it as well but they also dont guarantee it but I've never heard of someone having to come back to retieve it later. Hoping it happens for u soon Hal!

    Hal not sure where you're living now, I recall you guys moved awhile back. How about a road trip to Buffalo/Detroit to take off the 3-4 weeks waiting for the passport? Not sure if you can do same day at Detroit but worth a shot so u can get working quicker.

    Chances of you getting approved for a TRV to Canada with a Canadian spouse and a PR application in process are slim to none. They assume regardless of having a business in your name (which you've just registered) that your plan is to stay in Canada.

    It seems like it wouldn't be a huge problem except that technically you'd be considered to working illegally until you land as a PR. Until you land you're unauthorized to work for a new employer other than the one listed on your current work permit. Chances are it would never be discovered...

    Hi LV, My guess its get the AIP/PR at the same time by next Wednesday. You're really young and bg checks don't take long at all. RCMP check takes 2 days to get the results back according to my CAIPS but maybe its different for inland apps. Fingers are crossed for you hunny :) keep smiling!

    Anytime you've been physically present in Canada (even the month before you recieved your card) will be counted towards your residency requirement, 2 out of every 5 years.

    NO there will be no concern regarding this. Many people have the card mailed to them overseas when they had to leave Canada after the landing process. It's a normal practice. You have to be physically present in Canada 2 out of 5 years to maintain your status.
