Was there any new AOR for online applications this week? Does anyone know? I’m trying to figure out which way to submit mine

What about your application? How did you find out that you can send it online?

I’m going to be submitting mine next week. I’ll submit the paper version If there is no new online AORs by then.

I just went on the “Apply for Canadian Citizenship” page on canada.ca and I can see that the “find out if you can apply online” is there every time I refresh the page but if I use a different browser it doesn’t show. It did show up on the new browser eventually after about 15 refreshes. I think...

I’m not 100% sure but I’d say not really. She should have Canadian citizenship if she was born in the country. If I recall correctly In circa 2009, they made a few changes to the Citizenship Act and eliminated inheritance of Canadian citizenship to the second generation of children that were...

Yeah, that doesn’t really match what people have been saying. Well, I’ll be submitting mine online next week. One more question though. What email address did that confirmation come from?

Where did you find the info that people are getting email confirmation after submitting online application? Just curious cause I haven’t seen that yet. I know that clicking “submit” you’d get an automatics popup but haven’t heard about emails

Yeah but did he cancel the already sent online one? Maybe it was just a coincidence and that AOR was for that online application

You don’t necessarily need to have your PR card if you’re not travelling abroad but you should have your landing papers.

Who is asking you?

As far as I know the required documents are the same as for the paper version. It’s just another way of providing them. I haven‘t done my online application yet so Im not talking from personal experience

How do you know that the AOR received isn’t for that online application?

Try going through you emails again. Check the spam folder too just in case. If you want to get them on the phone you just need to keep trying.

I don’t know how they are going to look at such case when they receive two applications for the same person. I’d give it maybe another week and try to call immigration and ask if there is a way to cancel that online submission. It looks like you’re not the only one who submitted it in January...

That’s my plan too

My theory is that they might have not seen it in the system cause there was no AOR sent yet. You know, like with the paper version, if you sent it but nobody opened it yet it won’t be in the system either.

Yeah, I was thinking just in case I change my mind half way through. It seems like people were having (still having?) some issues with the online version. I’m mostly concerned about the CIC not being able to find online submitted applications after a few weeks of submission. Someone mentioned it...
