I have the same status too since i cleared the medicals. I thought CIC will process the US Applicants on-par with other FSWO, but doesn't seem to be happening.

I cleared medicals today, UCI has been updated and i see the Background check status as "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check."

Thank you for your update. I was under a impression that medicals are cleared till Apr 16 for US Applicants, but got to know from you that they are still processing medicals for people prior to Apr 16.

I m with AOR Apr 17 US Applicant ..waiting for the my medicals to be cleared..Hoping to get it cleared by this week.

If you read the conversations from the previous 10 pages, we have been discussing the same. FSW-I is treated along with FSW-O US Applicants. What is your AOR?

Yes..thats what it looks like. At the max they are taking 80 days for medicals.

Yeah..saw that in the Tracker..As you mentioned earlier 70 - 80 days looks to be trend.

Doesn't the applicant's initial screening of documents happen in a centralized place (Sydney) by the agent, before it is sent to the local visa office ? Atleast some available agent should have been started adjudicating our files. It is really sad that they haven't touched the files to update...
