Welll, I picked it up yesterday. So basically applying at a designated Passport Office gets you the passport within 2 weeks. Applied inperson on 3rd April, received on 15th April.

It is not a myth, but things have changed now. RC 8090 being a primary or secondary does delay your application, but in recent days some applications are being processed faster.

Tracker has a delay of <2 days. Also, the due date on GCMS is system generated so it is very unlikely that those will be followed.

Alright, so had an appointment today at 1 PM - Hamilton Mountain Passport Office - and reached there at 12:10 PM was out at 12:30 PM. The wait time there was 2 hours 30 minutes and so many people were waiting. Having an appointment definitely helps.

I don't think that how it works - this is from the Notice - "The e-Certificate instructions email is system-generated and you do not need to create a portal account if you choose to receive a paper certificate."
