At what time during the day does the ecas status change/update itself? Is it still at midnight everyday (as it used to be for PR applications) or are people seeing their status change any time during the day? Any input will be appreciated. Thank you very much.

You should be eligible to apply on the end date of your eligibility period. I have not seen any rule that states that you should sign a day after your eligibility period. Perhaps fellow PRs applying for Canadian citizenship can chime in?

Wow. Thats impressive. However it looks like ecas works differently for different people. My ecas status is: Decision Made. However it does not say anything about mine or my spouse's PR card. I have received my card, but my spouse is waiting. Hopefully we will receive her card by next week...

You would need to submit all earlier passports. I did. Whether or not it is a strict requirement is probably up to the visa officer issuing you a one time single entry visa (aka PRTD). Good Luck.

Hi IrishinVan. I too was told 5 days, but I got mine within 3 days. ;)

Getting a PRTD is very easy and does not take too long. In London, UK it takes about a day. Combined with VFS processing and mailing, 3 days max. Getting a PRTD is particularly easy and straight forward for newly landed immigrants. Hope this helps.

Does calling CIC make them send a photo request? I am worried now.

Hi Emak. I would suggest applying for a travel document from India. Its a fairly quick process and VFS is aware of the procedures to apply for a TD. Its a lot safer than sending your PR card from overseas. The new PR card supposedly has an electronic chip with all personal information. Its not...

The new PR Card has an inbuilt chip with all personal information of a resident. It is not really advisable to send a card by mail / courier outside Canada. Applying for a travel document is quick and easy and the most risk-free way of re-entering Canada if a PR does not yet have a card on hand...

Yes. Absolutely. You are eligible for a travel document. Getting one is fairly fast for permanent residents. Good Luck with the move.
