Now SERVICES CANADA is facing the biggest passport application backlog in years. Hang in there guys…we’re gonna have to wait on the other side too. When the time comes for passport application, we will also have to face some delays.

From May 20 to June 7 2022; That’s 11 business days which is normal. Saturdays are minimum service at most Canada Post Office/Sorting Center. They don’t work on Sundays. Monday May 23rd 2022 was Federal Holiday (Victoria day). If my math is right, it’s about 11 business days in total…NOT 17 days.

The fact that IRCC has extended the processing time from 12 to 27 months speaks volume in regards to backlog applications from previous years. I hope and pray that we all become Canadian Citizens by the end of this year….otherwise they’ll face another backlog phase next year which is : PR card...

JEEZ…the wait is killing me!!!! Was hoping to become a Canadian Citizen by the end of June so I can travel in July but I guess I will have to postpone my plans.

And afterwards we gonna deal with passport application backlog. CBS reports half a million Canadian passport application backlog between March and May 2022

Can we choose to write the test in either French or English?

As far as I know there’s one member on this forum who is scheduled to take the Oath on Tuesday April 5th 2022. The rest of us are either awaiting to write the test or waiting for oath invitation.
