H1B life vs. Moving to Canada - Experience sharing

Also, IMO Canada is not what you think it is. The grass is always green on the other side. I have lived in 3 different countries and hands down the US is the best place considering everything. Now, since you are so close to getting GC don't leave that otherwise you might regret it later even...

H1B life vs. Moving to Canada - Experience sharing

If I were you I would wait for years since you will at least get an EAD that would give you n-number of opportunities that you didn't get when on H1. Only issue could be with international travel with AP but you can always also get H1 as a back up.

H1B life vs. Moving to Canada - Experience sharing

Even if you withdraw you had made it clear about what intentions are and they will look at you with the suspicion that you had your intentions to immigrate so you will do that again if given a non-immigrant intent visa. It will always stay on your file no matter what. You could create a very...

H1B life vs. Moving to Canada - Experience sharing

Hmm...I am not sure even with withdrawal you can get TN as with TN you have to have a non-immigrant intent but by filing the 485 you have shown your intent. Please check with a competent lawyer for TN. My understanding is that you will not get any visa that has a non-immigrant intent. I agree...

I don't remember where to look for but go through you i140 approved packaged that you have received from the USCIS. Read it thoroughly.

H1B life vs. Moving to Canada - Experience sharing

I know this is a very difficult situation to make a decision. But frankly, Canada does not have that many opportunities as compared to the US, handsdown. But now since you have filed for I-485 so even if you come to Canada and become a Canadian you will not be allowed to file for TN visa if you...

Moving to Canada from USA with Approved I140

Oh, Ok. Yeah, that's the issue that everyone's case depends on the VO, situation and a whole lot of other things. But good to know that you have been doing back and forth many times on H1B. And you are correct that people with GC and PR have issues.

Moving to Canada from USA with Approved I140

Before I comment on anything by commuting I meant going very frequently like may be 2-3 times a week or even 3-4 times a month. A less than this number could be fine. Better to stay they M-F and back for the weekend. There are several reasons: the biggest one is the immigration offices at the...

Moving to Canada from USA with Approved I140

Its the same employer and same/similar job. If its a new employer then you have to start the whole process again but can keep the PD.

Moving to Canada from USA with Approved I140

If its AOS you will need to get H1B and file for i485. But there is a BIG caveat that you will only get your H1B for 1 YEAR.

Moving to Canada from USA with Approved I140

Not necessary and Don't assume you should check your package (approved I-140). Otherwise, you could lose I-140 and PD.

Moving to Canada from USA with Approved I140

Commuting frequently on H1B is a very bad idea.

Moving to Canada from USA with Approved I140

Was your I-140 filed for CP or AOS? If its CP then you need to take action within 1-year of receipt of PD being current or if its AOS then you are fine.

    [DECEMBER] Online Citizenship Applicants

This is false conclusion. It may be possible the person processing you application didn't think that your app needed an UP. If you don't mind could you share the reason for UP? Thanks.

    [DECEMBER] Online Citizenship Applicants

I think its Urgent Processing and not the online processing. There are several people applied online and they have not heard anything on their applications.
