Obligation to support - does this include Maternity Pay

OK Thank you. I have checked out the link you sent and it also says that you can claim after 12 months of registering with Service Canada, maybe this is for self-employed only. I am pretty sure that when I applied for residency my partner had to sign saying that he would pay any benefits back if...

Obligation to support - does this include Maternity Pay

OK. I would be self-employed though and the only information I could find gave examples for people in different professions who all signed up at least 12 months prior to starting a family. I am still not clear as to what benefits PRs are not eligible for. Can you clarify?

    Edmonton or Calgary

Hi I have heard the same thing about Edmonton as the previous poster, more blue collar, more white collar in Calgary. The head offices in Calgary attract a lot of people, the population is more transient apparently, people coming to make money. There is a lot of money in Calgary, rents are...

Obligation to support - does this include Maternity Pay

Ok that's interesting. I assumed that everything that is called a benefit was included in the no claims benefts for PR. What are the benefits that can't be claimed for then? I read up a bit online and it looks like to get EI or Maternity insurance you have to sign up a year in advance. Do you...

Obligation to support - does this include Maternity Pay

Hi, As a new resident I am not sure if maternity benefits and/or child benefits would not be applicable for the initial 3 years as a resident - or is this just employment benefits? Thank you.

December 2013 Outland Applicant - COPR Received!

After requesting more information the London Visa Office apparently approved my PR Application before receiving it! I picked up the COPR from the post office today. It is valid for six months. So 7 months after applying is not bad. Good luck everyone still waiting.

DECEMBER 2013 OUTLAND APPLICANTS – Join Here!!!

Hi, Just wanted to add something for the spreadsheet, I received a request for information from the Visa office on June 17th. I was given 30 days to respond. It is for an updated police certificate, addresses and personal history going back to 18 years, not just the last 10 years and also an...

Request for more information - London visa office

I sent off forms mid-december 2013 but the police form is dated 1/11/2013. I thought they didn't want the certificate to be older than six months when you apply. Seems odd to have to go through another application now. I am hoping I can just update the old one with new address and I don't have...

But I am qualified in a therapy that I could offer on a voluntary basis at a charity organisation, or hospital if they were open to that.
