I wanted to update that I received my COPR by mail on 06/26/2014.
COPR is valid till end of 2014. Now researching the newsgroup for Landing process. We also had our second baby in May so got busy with filing for our newborn's Canadian Citizenship Certificate and finally mailed the application last week. Now waiting game begins for that...

I must say checking ECAS had become a daily ritual, surely dont miss it now. It's also not true that ECAS only updates on Tuesday. Our DM was updated on ECAS on a Sunday. The ATIP notes helped during the process. Looking back all in all the whole process took little less than 6 months.

Got an email today saying that my file has now been approved and your Confirmation of Permanent Residence will be sent today.

Have to say such a relief to see that email dropping in!

According to ecas it started processing on the 5th of July and decision made today on the 8th of July.

Hi guys, I am a Canadian citizen and sponsored my wife from US. I submitted my application on Dec 3rd and January 7th I got my sponsor's approval. It mentions on ECAS that application is recieved and medical results have been recieved as well. There has been no update on ECAS since then, other than the fact that my lawyer had suggested to send in the FBI clearence when they ask for. So last month, they certainly sent a letter requesting the FBI clearence, also asked for me to pay the RPRF. After about 2 weeks, I had e-mail CIC Ottawa case processing center and they replied the next day stating that all files that they requested have been recieved and the status currently is that our file which was originally sent to NY office has been transferred to Ottawa case processing center (I am assuming to expedite the process). Also mentioned to me that our file is now pending a visa officer review. It has been 2 weeks and was wondering how long does it take for VO to get to our file?

Also if someone can add me on the spreadsheet I would appreciate it

Thanks Millertimez for giving hope, it certainly has been a long haul but congratulations on your progress. I had recently ordered the GCMS notes 2 days ago and will keep updated, infact I'm hoping to hear or atleast see "in progress" on ECAS even before the notes arrive.

Also thanks for adding me to the spreadsheet.

To give you our timeline, my husband was asked to send in some additional paperwork on June 6th. They gave us a deadline date of July 27th. We sent it all in by June 16th. Thats great...very similar dates in my case as well. Anyday now....has become a daily ritual to check the ecas. Would you know if the COPR is requested before the ecas is updated or other way around? I ask this because my lawyer is not the greatest in passing on the information to me in timely manner. So I am wondering if he would be contacted from CIC for COPR.

Most of the time, that is the case, but it depends on the VO. You have to land on or before Nov 4.

Only today I was informed by one of my friends that when they asked for additional documents on may 21st and gave us a deadline of july 20th, even though we had sent all requested docs in on june 10th...they (visa officer) would only open the file up after july 20th once the given deadline passes...is that true? Because even though I had emailed CIC and they replied back next day saying all docs have been recieved and noted and ur file currently is awaiting a visa officer for review....since then nothing has changed In ecas...but today is july 20th and hoping for it to be updated this week. If anyone can validate this information...I would appreciate it

It's not a great sign if your application is sent to LA. I know someone who had a similar situation as their application went back and forth between LA and Ottawa. Eventually they got called in for an interview in LA.
