Sponsorship withdrawal? Conditional PR? What if spouse doesn't sign?

Thank you. I appreciate this. I did check and there are no conditions on my copies of his COPR. So I'm guessing if no one says anything he will just be able to go about his normal life if he signs. I want him to be happy, I care that much, so I want to give him a chance to be happy here. Yet I...

Sponsorship withdrawal? Conditional PR? What if spouse doesn't sign?

Thanks Ponga. I know. I can't believe how difficult a decision this has become for me; it is not one I take lightly. I still love this person; I just can't be with him right now and I'm unsure whether I will ever be able to, however I still support his healing either way if he goes through with...

Sponsorship withdrawal? Conditional PR? What if spouse doesn't sign?

Thanks for the additional replies everyone! I was very confused on whether I was still able to withdraw my sponsorship after the approval but before the landing. Thanks Scylla. I'm sorting it out. I just want to make sure I understand the situation fully. I read somewhere that it would list...

Sponsorship withdrawal? Conditional PR? What if spouse doesn't sign?

Thank you all for the replies. I am in touch with his mother and have asked her to hold off having him sign the paperwork (she's his ride) because there are some problems which I am working out (I didn't say what), and she is complying. This is such an awkward situation on so many levels, I...

Sponsorship withdrawal? Conditional PR? What if spouse doesn't sign?

Thank you! Still wondering about the best way to go about the withdrawal as per my last post...web or phone? Is one faster? Time really is of the essence right now as I think he was planning to sign the papers this week/weekend. I found this contact link which says the call center agents cannot...

Sponsorship withdrawal? Conditional PR? What if spouse doesn't sign?

What is the most efficient way to withdraw? Should I use the web form as the website states, or is there a number I should call instead? This is what I found online: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=732&top=14

Sponsorship withdrawal? Conditional PR? What if spouse doesn't sign?

Thank you. I'm wondering also, since he has been in Canada for so long on a visitor visa while we have been processing all this (it's been more than 3 years at this point!), if he leaves the country after his visitor visa expires, will he have to be gone for quite some time before they will...

Sponsorship withdrawal? Conditional PR? What if spouse doesn't sign?

I see. Thank you scylla. You also mentioned that his visa would end...does that mean that he will lose his previously granted visitor privileges? As soon as I withdraw? That seems a little harsh but I guess I could see that maybe being the case.

Sponsorship withdrawal? Conditional PR? What if spouse doesn't sign?

Thank you! And it won't tarnish my record or cause future problems sponsoring if I withdraw?

Sponsorship withdrawal? Conditional PR? What if spouse doesn't sign?

I think we may have misunderstood each other. What I meant was, if I withdraw the application at this stage, will I be absolved? I was assuming that if I withdraw, it will go into effect immediately and he will not be able to land.

Sponsorship withdrawal? Conditional PR? What if spouse doesn't sign?

Thank you for your reply scylla. Honestly his parents are still supporting him and agreed to support him for the next 5 years in a letter we sent with the application, because I am financially unstable right now. My parents sent a letter too but I don't think he will ever hold them to it, or me...

Sponsorship withdrawal? Conditional PR? What if spouse doesn't sign?

Hi all, I sponsored my husband (a US citizen) for PR last year, and we have now been married for 3 years. He and I have been going through a difficult time and have now separated (actually, our whole relationship has been difficult, it just got worse over time and he became verbally and...

He said yes, then attached an explanation for everything that happened and explained that his record is now clean.

With the FBI? There is nothing on his FBI background check. His police record is clear.

Police Certificate, Medical Exam: expiration, when to send?

Hi Amalthea, I just responded to your PM, but I'll post here too. Yes, this is an old thread, although we did have some delays and only just sent our app in a week or two ago! My husband has no criminal charges. He was never sentenced to jail time for a criminal offense. He was once (in 2009)...

Background Declaration: Trouble remembering historical details

Thank you! That eases my worries. We are almost done compiling his history, and will give explanations anywhere we can't remember.

Background Declaration: Trouble remembering historical details

Thanks Mapleson. So are you saying that he does need to fill in the address gaps? My husband had a lot of residences that were short-term (less than six months) while he was traveling--for the detailed history he was going to put down that he was traveling between certain dates, and where. So...

Birth Certificates for Sponsor & Applicant - Photocopies okay?

Thanks cutetwins! My Mom said most people have the small ones here...is that true? I hope it's alright. I was thinking of photocopying both sides.

Background Declaration: Trouble remembering historical details

One more thing--for the history, it says to leave no time period unaccounted for. But what about the addresses section? Obviously for the times he was traveling around a lot, he didn't have a residence really, and doesn't remember the addresses of the places he stayed. Is it okay to just put...
