    To the original poster, many people on this thread aren't familiar with a marraige by proxy - which is what your friend had. Are they from Pakistan perhaps? [where such is legal, and recognized]. Income won't be required for a spousal sponsorship - but just insure that such a marriage is legal...

    Actually ms gomez, that's not exactly accurate...... IF a person who sponsors their spouse is a PR, then their PR number (the sponsor) which is found on the front of their PR card, also known as their client ID will be able to track information regarding their file. It's an 8 digit number...

    Marlena, I think you should wait until 2 months from the time you received the AOR to request any information as this will be sufficient time for them to work on your case and then you could get some information. Using your MP will be quicker than ordering CAIPS [which may still be an option...
