I just got the "Biometrics Fee Reminder" email as well about an hour ago. It does note to disregard the letter if I've already paid, which I have. Taking this as finally getting some form of validation, seems they are finally looking at our apps again. Hope this means the AOR will follow soon.

I would say that the processing time is so long mostly to weed out fraud. When someone sees 12+ months processing time and is trying to just get in somewhere quickly, it may be a deterrent. Additionally, they would probably want to make sure the sponsor is actually able to perform the...
