    February 2018 - Citizenship Applicant

Took the test today, and passed with 20/20. The officer said everything was in order and that my oath ceremony would likely take place in Victoria in early October. I'm still waiting on actual dates, though. Cheers!

    July - 2014 Applications

Noticed a 4th line in ecas today: "A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision." Is this normally done through email or what? Also, anyone know how long it usually takes? I'm from a visa exempt country. I must say I'm excited/nervous!

    BOWP flagpole for spouse?

As long as you have the documents, I don't see why it would be a problem. Having said that, my wife came with me and was issued the spouse open work permit at the same time I was issued my study permit at the border. Is it possible to go on a weekend? A lot of border crossings have 24/7 service...

    BOWP flagpole for spouse?

I think you'll be fine. My spouse was also issued an open work permit while I was on a study permit, and she flagpoled to get it. Good luck!

    BOWP flagpole for spouse?

Indeed. The man basically sympathized with our situation, but insisted that work permits issued at a port of entry were reserved for those who were new to Canada. He could have done us a favor, but didn't. What jes_ON states is not absolute. My spouse was issued an open work permit renewal at...

    BOWP flagpole for spouse?

Ok, we tried to flagpole today for my spouse's open work permit (to accompany my recently issued BOWP). The friendly officer told me that although my spouse met the requirements for this category, they still need to apply online! Frustrating! I'm not entirely sure the agent's information was...
