****JULY 2017***** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

This point a lot of us July-ers are at is so weird. The 1st stages are pretty consistent, things to do, documents to upload and updates. Now it's the long, quiet wait for BGC / DM / PPR etc etc. *Twiddles thumbs, knowing how long it could take, and trying not to obsess over CIC / ECAS*

****JULY 2017***** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

Received an email over the weekend saying my BGC hasn't started and it was a system error. I wondered why I was one of the only ones LOL

Can I live in Canada while my application is being processed?

May I ask if your partner was asked any questions when entering Canada? Other than how long are you staying etc? I'm going to be doing the same as you in January, a little nervous about proving to them I'm just visiting. (I have savings and a return flight booked)

Did I make a bad choice?

See, I live in Japan. I've just told my work not to renew my visa for the new year, we used my visa ending as the right time to leave and go to Canada. Knowing I wouldn't be working, I saved up lots of money to see me by so I can be a tourist for a while. We thought it would be better to stay...

****JULY 2017***** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

Hey, Just upload the receipt and a letter of explanation. I think thats the general route to go for any complications we face. We're all different and I'm sure they realise that it's not going to be easy for all of us to get things for deadlines.

    Linking Conjugal Partner Application online

For me, typing my birthplace and second name in CAPITALS worked.

    Options while waiting for application.

Thank you so much for your input. I was hoping just to mow his lawn and tidy his garage, but looks like he'll have to do it himself :p IEC application and Online courses it is. Do you know if applying/being on an IEC could affect/complicate the Spouse Visa is any way?

    Options while waiting for application.

Hello forum. This isn't a direct question, but more of a "I'm trying to plan the next steps and need advice". I hope that's okay here. . . So, just uploaded PCCs, Schedule A and done my Medical - on Common Law outland app. (We live in Asia) I'm British, partner is Canadian. Partner is...

Yeah, I've read that thread and others like it. There still isn't a "This is the definite answer" from these threads, thank you though :)

    Japanese Police Certificate

Hello, I've searched the forum but still not found a definite answer. CIC is saying to scan and upload the Police Certificate, my Japanese PC envelope says "do not open" and to the addressee only. Any ideas?

    Unable to link my account

I tried all of the above, and nothing worked. For me, it was either typing my birthplace or second name in CAPITAL LETTERS that worked.

    Conjugal or Common Law?

Thank you, this was really helpful. At least we will have revised all the paper work and documents by the "common law" date. ;D

    Conjugal or Common Law?

Thank you for your responses. Hmm, the reason we can't get married is because it's illegal here. From reading the information online, I thought we might fall under conjugal as we haven't been living together as first we had to find a landlord who was okay with us being partners. 3 years of...
