    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Well that makes at least four of us that got started in Buffalo on July 11th! So, if the CIC has to give a reason for taking longer than 6 months to process an application, is that 6 months from the time the application begins processing, or 6 months from the time the application is received...

Congratulations! I am definitely not jealous of you at all. ;) ;) Seriously though, it's wonderful that you moved through the process so quickly. I hope everything will go smoothly for you now that you've landed in Canada.

"As she grew, she came to imitate the virtues of her mother and determined, after a vision of Christ crucified, to enter St Maria di Basico, a convent of the Poor Clares." From Butler's Lives of the Saints. B flat was always my favorite note to play. Does the note have any actual relevance...

Please post your FBI request times.

Once I figured out what the heck I was supposed to do, my FBI background check and fingerprinting went pretty smoothly. I actually got two fingerprint cards sent to me from someone in the Buffalo FBI headquarters for free, after I called asking about the background check process. Then I had...

Okee dokee, receipts are now in the mail to Mississauga and Buffalo, just to be thorough. I sent it Express with tracking for the Mississauga letter and Registered Mail to Buffalo, just to cover my bum. So from what I gather, it takes at least a month for that to process after the fee is paid...

Really? Wow, that is super confusing! So I pay Mississauga and send them the receipt even though my application is being processed in Buffalo as an outside applicant? I don't know how I would know any of this stuff without help - thanks! I will put the receipt in the mail with a self-written...

Blurgh - another issue. Hubs paid the fee to the Mississauga office online, but I'm pretty sure we need to pay to the Buffalo office, which can only be done with cash, cashier's check, money order, or bank draft. He already got the receipt from the online payment - do you think it's acceptable...

Well, we found the problem - husband didn't pay the RPRF, so I guess that's what's been holding us up. Bloop! Oh well. At least we sorted it out now. He paid it last night and we got the PDF receipt. I know I have to mail it to the Buffalo immigration office, but can anyone tell me how exactly...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Oh, they've had my application since March, I've already submitted my medical examination, which was received, and am now "in process." The letter requesting my medical exam said we were waived for the interview (unless they change their minds for some reason). I would put my timeline under my...

Thanks again! I'm going to email the hubs and let him know what our options are. As far as moving, I'll hold out for a little longer, but I think we'll have to set a deadline after which we'll say "enough is enough!" and we'll decide it's time for me to move, PR or no PR, until I'm official...

Thanks for the responses! Hm, I never heard of CAIPS or GCMS notes until I started reading these forums. I'm guessing these are notes on the work that's being done on my file? I would ask how to get them but that is such a newb question and I'm afraid the process is long and complicated to...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Hello everyone! I applied for Permanent Resident status in March of 2011 but am posting on the forum for the first time today. What took me so long? My husband and I are in a very normal situation: dated for 4 years before getting married, he lives in Toronto, I moved to Buffalo March 2009...
