Physical presence calculator - transit flights

I can only tell you what I did and my reasoning for it. I did not include transit stops as I never left the secure area of the airport during those transit stops. I never "entered" the country and that to me was not a visit.

    AOR for family

You will get one for each family member. The AORs can sometimes come a day or 2 apart.

How long between AOR and knowledge test?

Oh I am not on that bandwagon personally. I submitted mine with a No and at peace with my decision but I have read some of the well reasoned arguments in favour of Yes and come to the conclusion it doesn't hurt the application. So if someone is submitting a new application, my advice for what...

How long between AOR and knowledge test?

I believe the OP referred to question 9c. If you have lived abroad during the eligibility period and not as a crown servant, the general wisdom of this forum is that you are better off answering Yes to question 9c, fill in your name on CIT0177 and mark all other fields as not applicable. You may...

How long between AOR and knowledge test?

Short answer..No. However, you can look at the spreadsheet here and get a sense of average processing times for people who SHARE their info here. You must also remember that October has been crazy in terms of the number of applications. So historical averages don't mean much as they are going to...

If you Received AOR and/or in Process - tell us about 9c

There is the case of folks who were in their home countries pre-PR but within eligibility period. Don't travel is not an option for everybody :)

If you Received AOR and/or in Process - tell us about 9c

You will find many in this forum who have received AOR/IP and in any of the 3 buckets - answered YES with explanation and scratched out CIT0177, answered No with explanation and answered No with no explanation. As some of the folks have mentioned in the other threads, it's still too early to...

@dpenabill as always useful information but on a lighter note - what has been your shortest post :p

Post C6, application returned for question 9C,

I think we agree that the question on the form was poorly worded and I also agree that your approach is not incorrect. I just called you out on your hyperbole. Don't know if you are a lawyer or play one on TV but either way you aren't great at it. No legal form considers each question in a...

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) as proof of language for citizenship app

Your post graduate degree is sufficient. The TOEFL will be disregarded but it doesn't hurt that you have included it with your application. The instructions clearly specifies which of the third party tests will be accepted as proof of language proficiency.

PCC requested during citizenship interview. Anyone in similar situation before

Go to the Indian Consulate on Bloor St (?) and submit an emergency application for PCC. http://cgitoronto.ca/content/police-clearance-certificate

Post C6, application returned for question 9C,

While I agree with your approach of including a crossed out 0177 form and marking it as "Not Applicable" is ONE of the correct ways, I disagree with the hyperbolic assertion about "any professional who values honesty" crap. Most of the problems encountered by people and questions on this forum...

    Questions regarding CIT 0002 (2017)

Just wanted to add that you may be looking at the older form. The new forms don't ask you to go back 6 years.

    Days not showing in printout?

Normal. The form only displays year and month after you click out of the field or print out the document. The physical presence calculator on the other hand displays the full date.

    Name Split

but his name is not the same on any 2 document! PR card has Last Name = ABC XYZ, his Passport has Given Name = ABC XYZ and his ID Proof has First Name = ABC and Last Name = XYZ. I don't know if I have an answer :) but the form asks you to give your info as it was in the last immigration...

    Police Clearance for Citizenship Application

The PCC is given by the Indian Consulate (now outsourced to BLS). They do not send people to verify addresses. What they do is to send your file to the RPO that issued your passport and they apparently check if your name appears on some list (as was told to me by the consulate staff when I had...

    9) c) during your eligibility period did you live outside Canada?

I selected No and did not include any explanation letter ( also got AOR). The help section on the form for 9c talks about specific cases when you can claim exemption. Its just a poorly worded question for one specific case- are you claiming that any day spent outside Canada should count because...
