FYI, I just spoke to a friend who received a PR through CEC as well (LMIA supported) 4 months ago, apparently the PR card process is automated now. Once you send the letter you receive the copr first and then the cards follow. Thanks all!

That's good info, thanks. Actually I see now that the BOWP won't work as I'm not the primary applicant. I 'love' that the CIC website states 'you may be eligible'. that's nice and non committal. It does seem that I could in theory apply for an OWP though, my visa expires in the next 4 months...

That's an interesting development. I guess I'll get an Aussie check for my wife as well, she's probably done more than 6 months in Aus over the years. However we've never resided there, that would be outside the parameters of her Visa in Aus (and conversely mine in the USA). I'll be interested...
