Thread For applications Through SYDNEY (AUSTRALIA) Office

Hi nzandcanada, I would say don't send it until they ask for it. The reason I say this is that you don't have to send the entire thing with your application. I think they will ask you for it again at the end of the process as they may want to know where else your partner has travelled during...

    first contact through facebook

We met through an app on Facebook randomly and began chatting. No one introduced us. That's what we put in our application.

    November 2012 Applicants Unite!

Hi Canadianna, Yes you can, as long as the visitor's visa is valid for longer than 6 months. You just have to go to a registry with a copy of the visitor's document. They attached my husband's Alberta Health Care to mine. The form you need to complete is on the site or, we went to the AMA and...

may have to leave the contry.

If you haven't sent the application yet, I would definitely suggest going outland. Don't use my timeline as a guide, Sydney is really quick if your application is straight forward. Outland has no residency requirement, you can appeal if denied and as has been mentioned, the chances of an...

    Yet another question about COPR

I'm assuming regular post unless you've pre-paid a courier. We are expecting ours via regular post.

    Yet another question about COPR

They will mail it to whatever you used as your mailing address on the application

Is your husband in Canada with you? If so, then you want the CoPR sent to your Canadian address. If he's not, then you want the CoPR to go to whatever you have listed as your mailing address. I'm pretty sure that the CoPR itself will have your Canadian address on it so they can send the PR card...

Anyone had their medical extended by the VO?

Yes, my husband's medical results were extended. They didn't inform us they were extending them, we found out when we rec'd our passport request. The date they stated that would be used for landing was January 2014, his medical expired January 2013.

No, that's right. They acknowledge the date your application was rec'd as the beginning date. You use today's date as the beginning of the permanent residence application. (Stage 2 AOR) Mississauga looked at the whole app when they were approving your sponsorship before they sent it to Sydney.

Thread For applications Through SYDNEY (AUSTRALIA) Office

Has your spouse not received an email yet? If they are able to access e-cas too, that means Sydney has rec'd it. I've just looked at the spreadsheet again and the shortest stage 2 AOR is 1 day and the longest is 40 days, you're still in the middle there. I'm sure your spouse will get an email in...

UK Citizen marrying Canadian - I've so many questions!

Definitely outland, there is no residency requirement (if you apply inland you can't leave while your application is in process) and you have the right to appeal if your application is denied (not that it will be), if you apply inland you have no right of appeal. Best of luck!! :D

Thread For applications Through SYDNEY (AUSTRALIA) Office

Don't get paranoid yet. It means that Mississauga rec'd it on that date. Once you were approved as a sponsor (April 5) they will forward it on to Sydney. Your spouse will get an email when it's rec'd in Sydney. They send the applications via diplomatic pouch, so there is very little chance it...

We sent our pics and the Appendix B via express post from Canada. It arrived in the same timeline the courier quoted for half the price. I kind of wish we had spent the extra cash to have it couriered back, but, oh well we've already waited this long.... :P
