Didn't you hear that all pending low-wage LMO applications submitted prior to June 20 have been scrapped. Nobody has a new LMIA yet since it's only been 3 weeks since then.

Well, I've waited 5 business days so far and there's still nothing. Let's see if Service Canada actually lives up to its 15-day (business day) deadline. Just two more weeks.

There's an appeal process but I'm not sure how it works. My employer's LMO was refused at first but he managed to get it appealed. Now I'm on my way to Canada. See if your employer can try getting that decision overturned.

I just called Service Canada again today to re-confirm that all unexpired positive LMOs (whether named or unnamed) from before June 20 are still usable.

Nope, I'm a foreign worker who was lucky enough to get a positive (although unnamed) LMO in time before this predicament.

By pending, are they also referring to LMOs that were approved but unnamed? Just last Thursday, I called them and asked if unnamed LMOs were still valid and usable and they told me yes. This call was made way after that page was last updated.

LMO and LMIA are basically the same thing except that an LMIA is a new type of LMO that Service Canada will be processing from now on in place of the old LMOs. All new LMOs as of June 20 are referred to as LMIA since they're processed according to new guidelines that came into effect that day...
