    OK, I've seen enough

One more thing that I feel is worth mentioning about myself, is that I have no jingoisms about my own country either. Everything I say about policies on Canadian immigration should apply to my own country as well as many others worldwide. I see people as people and nothing more. Everyone has the...

    OK, I've seen enough

So, it looks like whenever I post threads/comments about the inherent hypocrisy of some jingoistic Canadians on this forum, I get several thumbs downs and my thread always disappears. Today was an all-new record. It only took 5 minutes for me to get 3 more negative ratings and have my thread...

TFW June and July Applicants 2014

Guys, PLEASE USE ENGLISH. We don't need another excuse for Canadians to hate foreign workers.

How to find TFW job from outside Canada

You either go to Job Bank or the provincial equivalents like Work BC, Sask Jobs, etc. In each job advertisement, they specifically tell you how to apply for the job. They usually include email addresses and phone numbers. They just changed the rules concerning who's eligible for LMIAs...

How long does it take to add a name to an unnamed LMO?

My job is in the northern part of BC where the unemployment rate is consistently low. BC handles applications for the Yukon, Saskatchewan and Manitoba as well. SK and MB have consistently low unemployment rates too. They need workers just as much as Alberta does. My Saskatchewan LMO was rejected...

TFW June and July Applicants 2014

Didn't you hear that all pending low-wage LMO applications submitted prior to June 20 have been scrapped. Nobody has a new LMIA yet since it's only been 3 weeks since then.

How long does it take to add a name to an unnamed LMO?

Well, I'm hoping that was just an Alberta thing. My job is in BC. I was told that it takes a maximum of 15 business days (21+ real days if you count weekends and holidays) and I would really like to have my LMO within that time frame. This is actually more on par with the 25- 30 estimate that...

Which province was the LMO for and how long ago was this? Was it like November of last year or January of last year?

Which province was your LMO in?

How long does it take to add a name to an unnamed LMO?

Well, I've waited 5 business days so far and there's still nothing. Let's see if Service Canada actually lives up to its 15-day (business day) deadline. Just two more weeks.

    open lmo rejected!

There's an appeal process but I'm not sure how it works. My employer's LMO was refused at first but he managed to get it appealed. Now I'm on my way to Canada. See if your employer can try getting that decision overturned.

Some Pending Low-Wage LMIA will NOT be process...

I just called Service Canada again today to re-confirm that all unexpired positive LMOs (whether named or unnamed) from before June 20 are still usable.

Some Pending Low-Wage LMIA will NOT be process...

Nope, I'm a foreign worker who was lucky enough to get a positive (although unnamed) LMO in time before this predicament.

Some Pending Low-Wage LMIA will NOT be process...

By pending, are they also referring to LMOs that were approved but unnamed? Just last Thursday, I called them and asked if unnamed LMOs were still valid and usable and they told me yes. This call was made way after that page was last updated.

OK, so I just called Service Canada today and they told me that it now takes 15 business days to put a name on an LMO.

    Moratorium

Send your application for your work permit extension right away and explain that your name is currently in the process of being placed on the LMO. You'll be on implied status.

Which of the new rules regarding LMIA and TFWP are in effect?

LMO and LMIA are basically the same thing except that an LMIA is a new type of LMO that Service Canada will be processing from now on in place of the old LMOs. All new LMOs as of June 20 are referred to as LMIA since they're processed according to new guidelines that came into effect that day...
