I had sent a email to Tokyo Embassy to check 1) Status 2) Passport submittion. They replied saying 1) Currently my application is under assesment. 2) I can submit and pickup passport in person, as and when they make a passport request

Well all the embassies have their own procedures to follow, I agree ND is faster to process applications, but there are many other embassies which take longer as well, like mine in tokyo avg is 6-8 months :(

my situation is similar, i am in canada and have my mailing address set to canada for my wifes address, do you know approximately how long it took the letter to reach from Tokyo embassy to your Canadian address ? Also is this same updated on ecas site ?

Mate, I think initial post is slower , but embassy process time is faster :) I am sure u and others will get good news soon.

ecas updated PR Application status to In Process on 9th April 2010.

Try ecas tracker, it allows you to enter multiple identification items. I use it and it sends me updates when any status change.

New delhi is one of the fastest processing visa office, i guess its just taking time to reach their via indian post which is a bit slow. All the best.

btw, s-m-w your case might be like mine, where they started processing on friday and on monday said decision made.

Mine was sent to Tokyo visa office on 29th March, still waiting for updates from Tokyo visa office .
