It might be helpful to have a sticky post with answers to the same questions that are repeatedly asked but new members. Minimum income, Option C, where to send the application, etc. That way members don't have to keep answering the same questions over and over again.

I'm pretty sure that you don't have anything to worry about. It's actually kind of dumb how they determine GST/HST eligibility because they use your current marital status, but your income from 2 tax returns ago. Anyway, there won't be any correlation between the that and your application.

My Ecas still shows "not available". My sponsorship was approved November 5, 2008. I don't know what to do any more. The Tokyo office doesn't respond, and the Call Centre is obviously unhelpful. What should I do? Should I ask my MP for help? Thank you.

I do echo RobsLuv's sentiments. I didn't mean "just go and get married or live together" as a means for immigration, rather, those are technically the two paths that are possible. It definitely is unusual, and a concern that he wants to immigrate to Canada, even though you two have never met.
