We did and so far they haven't asked for them. In the meantime my husband had his fingerprints done at the end of June and we just received the clearence letter last week. We've now sent that onto Ottawa :)

We were told the same thing... We did receive the medical request in June, so I would agree with everyone to go and have it done. Just stay ahead of the game :)

It's hard to say, it really depends on the Border Officer. Take all your application paperwork and just be honest. That's all I can suggest. My husband came up in October 2011 and managed to cross without getting a visitor permit. We applied in March and went back to the Border in April...
Right now I think it's taking about 6-8 weeks... We sent my husbands in July 26th, no charge on the credit card as of yet...
