My husband doesn't speak English yet. But I can imagine one day he will, and if he speaks like you do I would be so proud. One day we will have all of this behind us, we will be with our spouses. Life will be much different. I don't think I have ever been so in love, so full of hope, and yet...

I'm so sorry bilbol11, that's a heartbreaking situation. I feel very bad for you two, I wish you could be there for the birth of your baby. I don't understand why you are being kept waiting, I don't understand why I am either, and I sure don't want to speculate why that is other than they are...

I'm in the same boat as you bilbol11. There is nothing else we need to do. They've received everything. My husband and I have been waiting since July. Everything is in Paris. I've e-mailed the embassy there, I've phoned and e-mailed the Ankara office, and my MP has helped me the most. Told me...

I was hoping today would be the day. We're still waiting for my husbands PPR, too. I'm thinking this week I'll hear something. My MP told me that nothing has reached Ankara yet, so its still processing in Paris. What can they be doing? It's nuts!!!!

    Is there a number?

Contact your local MP and ask them to look into your case. I haven't been able to find out anything without them. They don't answer my e-mails, or answer my phone calls, or my husbands. But my MP has faithfully gotten back to me with small details, or at least assurance that they will find out...

    Port of Entry?

Good point scylla. I guess I'll have to have faith that it's gonna work out. He can phone me lots once he gets to Canada. Make sure he has everything he needs to give to the Immigration Officer. And all I was worried was him just coming to Canada, maybe getting lost, I hadn't really considered...

    Port of Entry?

I just think it would be better if I was in the same airport as him as the Immigration officer. I just hate the thought of him being so vulnerable to everything. When I went to Turkey, his whole family was there, I felt so safe there in Turkey. I wasn't lost or I never doubted where to go. I...

    Port of Entry?

So then, when my husband comes, he could land in Toronto first before coming to Vancouver. We talked about the other option of first landing at Heathrow Airport and then flying to Vancouver but truth be told I'm really worried for him. He doesn't speak any English. And when I went through London...

    PR VISA REFUSED

I'm sure you're still in shock about your PR refusal. I'm sorry!!!!! It's a terrible feeling, I don't wish it on any sincere legitimate couple, trying to be together. My advice to you and your spouse--be kind to each other. Try not to play the blame game. You have a bit of a long haul ahead of...

How long does it take to after the appeal

I'm sorry. As soon as I posted it I realized I was being overly sensitive. The last thing I wanna do is get all snotty to people who are going through a hellish time like me. Anyways I'm just going through a hard time canadianwoman. I know you're just trying to help me to understand and everyone...

How long does it take to after the appeal

How is that pretty good proof? We were always honest to Canada Immigration, that my husband wasn't gonna learn English until he came to Canada. I learned Turkish, I'm just better at languages than he is. You know, you need to be a little more sensitive about how you word things out there...

How long does it take to after the appeal

Yes he did have his interview conducted in Turkish. We specified that he needed a translator for his interview. I don't understand why they were testing his english, but they did do that, too. We never told them he was fluent in english, this totally threw him for a loop. After that he couldn't...

How long does it take to after the appeal

Well we didn't think it was necessary to include all our photos. We filled out the application, and that was pretty difficult because my husband doesn't speak English, I've learned Turkish. Last summer my Mom traveled with me on my way to Turkey and stayed with us for 5 weeks. That was the first...

How long does it take to after the appeal

They didn't believe we had a genuine marriage. My husband was really nervous and he forgot a bunch of important stuff. We also didn't include enough proof of communication, like e-mails and letters, or even enough wedding photos. After he failed the interview, I went to live in Turkey for almost...

How long does it take to after the appeal

I won the appeal hearing June 23rd. They received the files August 5th. They started processing the files September 5th and now we're just waiting. I'm so frustrated and I don't even know what to do. Everything is finished. His medical his police clearance. What more can we do? :'(

Finally visa in hand after 3 years of waiting.

I'm so happy for you. I'm sorry you had to go through such a long arduous process, but you will be together soon and I'm sure it will take some of the sting away. I hope you are reunited soon and best of luck in your life together in Canada :)
