****August 2019 - Inland Spousal PR + OWP****

A note to those trying to link their applications to their CIC accounts after receiving AOR: if you are the sponsor, the UCI number in the AOR email is YOUR UCI number, not the applicant's. So you won't be able to look up your spouse's application with your UCI number. We were able to link my...

****August 2019 - Inland Spousal PR + OWP****

More fantastic news here guys. We were able to successfully link the application today (on the first try no less!). No other developments to report, just a generic note from CIC saying they’ll contact us when there’s an update and they’re working on processing the application. It did have a neat...

****August 2019 - Inland Spousal PR + OWP****

Hi there! I don't recall submitting an OWP checklist (didn't know there was one). I think the only checklist we had was the 10 pager. Husband received AOR today. :-)

That's so great! Thanks for the reply. Nice to save $150 where we can! I haven't yet, but I will right now!

****August 2019 - Inland Spousal PR + OWP****

Thanks guys :) We've tried linking the application to husband's CIC account, but no luck! Does it sometimes take a while to be able to link the application to the account? Also, I guess this means we won't have to extend his visitor visa in October?

****August 2019 - Inland Spousal PR + OWP****

Oh yes, that's the mistake we made before with the OWP - we missed one of the payments and receipts. It was one for $155. Got it right the second time around, but then we missed those physical signatures next to the electronic ones. I really really THINK we got everything right this time. We...

****August 2019 - Inland Spousal PR + OWP****

Application sent August 1, received Aug. 6. This is our third time sending an application in... we've had some trouble before with missing signatures (physical ones next to electronic ones) and an OWP receipt. They say third time's a charm. I hope that's the case for us. Haven't received AOR yet.

****MAY 2019 Inland Spousal PR + OWP****

Alright, we printed off all new forms, got new professional pics taken (as the previous ones were done in March), read the detailed guide, signed the ALL the forms that have an electronic signature but also want a physical one, even put the barcode pages immediately after the OWP application and...

****MAY 2019 Inland Spousal PR + OWP****

Bad news. Just received our second application back to us... after 78 days of reviewing our application. They say we didn't include a signed IMM0008 form and a signed IMM5710 form. Husband signed both of these forms electronically and their checklist doesn't say you need to also physically sign...

****MAY 2019 Inland Spousal PR + OWP****

Hi All... Our application was returned to us in early May due to a missing OWP receipt, we fixed this and re-sent the application May 9. I stupidly lost the receipt with the tracking number, so no idea when they got it, we figure by/around May 16... Still no AOR, tried checking the status of...

Help! Our Sponsorship Application Was Returned...

So, update: I did speak to an agent at the call centre who wasn't very helpful and seemed confused as to why my husband's signature wasn't accepted. He said the only reason he could think of is that the signature was older than 90 days (which it wasn't, we printed and sent everything off in...

Help! Our Sponsorship Application Was Returned...

We typed his name into the box on a computer, and then he also physically signed inside the box with a blue ink pen. (see photos here: https://imgur.com/a/UFD8tX1). Our signatures are VERY different, mine you can actually read my name lol. I'm hoping to call tomorrow for clarification, maybe the...

Help! Our Sponsorship Application Was Returned...

I just paid the additional $155 fee for the OWP. Tomorrow I'm gonna give them a call and ask for clarification about the signature. See attached link pictures of what they highlighted and we submitted (with identifying information removed of course!). I really can't wrap my head around this...

Help! Our Sponsorship Application Was Returned...

Hi! Thanks for commenting. We thought it was properly signed - we typed his name in the box as required, and he signed beside it (they highlighted this part of the document checklist). Hubby's signature is a bit chicken-scratchy, so we're wondering if maybe it wasn't legible enough. As for the...

Help! Our Sponsorship Application Was Returned...

Hi, I'm really confused. I'm Canadian and sponsoring my American husband. We sent in our sponsorship application in March. Today we received the application back with a note saying we forgot the following: Schedule A - Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) Form -Not signed by Principal Applicant...

About to Submit Inland Spousal Sponsorship Application - Second Visitor Visa Extension?

Hi Everyone, We are about to submit our sponsorship application and are looking for some advice. We applied and received a visitor visa extension for my husband (US citizen) back in September, with the extension valid until the end of March. We are wondering if we should submit another visitor...

Proving You're Common Law - Canadian ID?

Hi, I am doing some research on having my American boyfriend move to Canada and declaring us as common-law. I looked at the checklist and for proof of the common-law relationship, they want you to provide proof of a shared life, like joint bank accounts, shared car insurance, both of our names...

How Do You Live Together for a Year to Qualify as Common-Law?

Hi guys, So my boyfriend is American and I am Canadian. I want to sponsor him as a common-law spouse, but you need to be living together for a year. I don't understand how that's possible? Could he come here on a six month visitor visa, apply to have it extended for another six months, and...
