Yes, I was reading the same news. That can clear the backlog big time but then the Citizenship certificates will get all the backlog.

They have a strike pay. If you participate in strike activity then you get paid some money. Which is very little.

My oath in on 26th and I have received no email yet

I believe so. The executives will not be on strike and temporary and contract workers will not be strike. The work done by third party will continue. Also, I believe that since they have been in strike position for a while. There must have been a back up plan devised for such services as Oath.

Mine is on 26th. One ray of hope i can think of is that only Union workers can go on strike and the govt. jobs are full of contract position and they cant go on strike. So hopefully, people who already have they oath scheduled will get to go ahead with the ceremony despite of the strike.

So there is no deal reached and I believe there will be a strike starting tonight. Good luck to people who have oaths in the come few days. Let us know how they are dealing with it

Heres a couple of things I was thinking. The number of employees are too many to the strike to be go on for long so even if there is a strike, I believe it shouldn't be more than 24-48 hours. They should have plans in place in case a strike happens, I dont believe the departments will be shut...

Dont know about that. I have been reading the news. I feel the online ceremony wont be affected much. May be just in person.

You should get it in couple of days. I have heard 7-10 days before the ceremony, you get the email. I have on 26th even I am waiting on the email.
