Applicant from PhD program after 5 Nov, 2011 connect here to get status

I guess PNP is quicker. I also read other posts about the FSW1 applications to New Delhi. Their process is extremely quick (6-7 months?). How can it happen and why can't PhD stream be that quick, given that we got our education (and many cases, work experience) in Canada? This is very...

Applicant from PhD program after 5 Nov, 2011 connect here to get status

Hi TyrusX, I think that the person applied to CIC last Nov. Before the process, they need to submit documents to the immigration office in their own province. This decision-making process at the province level can take around 3 months before they get approved. Then they need to fill out more...

I see. Thanks, Utopie. So if you got a PER, does it mean that you will very likely get your immigration visa, because they have checked your application and find that you have fulfilled all the points?

I have seen a few threads here stating about PER. Is it positive eligibility review? I thought that as long as you stayed in Canada for more than two years for your PhD you will get PER, regardless if your work experience qualifies their requirement. Am I correct?

Hi TyrusX, Thanks so much for your reply. I originally planned for FSW-Ph.D. because I thought that the stream will be quick (decision completed in one year or so). I believe that your suggestion of applying for Ontario PNP may be good... However, somehow I got the impression that PNP process...

Hi all, I have a question for you. I can apply for both FSW-PhD stream and Ontario Provincial Nominee-PhD (Ontario PNP-PhD) stream. I am considering which one to apply. How long does it take for the FSW-PhD stream applicant to get their immigration visa? Should I apply both? I am really...

A question about one-year CONTINUOUS working experience

Hi, I still have a question about the one-year continuous working experience. Operational Bulletin 173 from Immigration Canada defined one-year continuous working experience in the first Federal Skilled Worker category. If an applicant falls under two of these occupations in their special list...
