So you have linked sponsor application to myCIC under your account and PR application through myCIC under your PA's account?

also when you open the ECAS. it shows following. "The person you are sponsoring can receive instant email updates and more detailed, up-to-date case status on their permanent resident application by creating an online account. Find out how."

So when you open myCIC, does it say your name as account holder? It is strange, the agent told me only PA can link the PR file.

It is better to call CIC, they will ask you to open a ticket via webform and also ask for extension. This is really frustrating, a lot of people lately are having issues.

so when you did not receive the correspondence on your email, it was only once. then it seems like they fixed the issue hence you got sponsorship approval via email. correct?

I have no idea, but looks like a lot of people got it. In my case they asked for birth certificate of sponsor which i already provided with the original application. However, i submitted thee notorized translated copy in english and not the original , that could be the reason why.

when your sponsorship got accepted did you receive the confirmation letter via email?
