Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

I only know of same options that one would otherwise use for a stay: Airbnb, hotels and other long-term vacation booking sites like Vrbo, etc. Onus of making sure that chosen property is good enough for quarantine and that owner is comfortable with you quarantining in their property is on you...

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

I know the situation right now seems crazy and disheartening, but if you have time till August end or beyond, it may help to keep trying for few more days. I see some positive developments overall: AI has started selling their tickets on codeshare flights. I noticed today Air Canada offering a...

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

Folks, AI just released their pricing chart to/fro a lot of destinations: http://www.airindia.in/images/pdf/VBM-FARES-FOR-WEBSITE-29-JUL-2020.pdf I know this alone confirms nothing, but I would consider this a very good step in bringing some clarity around this mess and a solid sign that sooner...

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

Actually, scratch this! AI's VBM flights to Frankfurt in August are available for booking on their site as of now with only a little less time than CDG in transit (still well above 12+ hours)

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

Looks like flights to Paris (CDG) are available. These require a separate booking with Air Canada or another carrier for CDG to Canada part of the route and involve an overnight stay at CDG (12+ hours transit). Before flights to Frankfurt or other options open, I think this is the best we have.

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

Apologies, I'd love to help, but I'm in the same boat and there's no confirmed flight that I can possibly suggest at the moment. Same as other forum members have suggested, best bet for now looks like waiting for AI flights for Frankfurt to open and jostle for a ticket on those Another way...

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

Came across an interesting snippet in a news article: https://indianexpress.com/article/explained/international-flights-explained-why-indias-planned-air-bubbles-are-not-exactly-that-6511628/ No name or identity provided for this official. But this is probably why AI staff is able to help...

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

Route to Dubai requires extra permissions (ICA, GDRFA, etc.) by all airlines operating on this stretch. I know of two - Air India Express: http://blog.airindiaexpress.in/india-uae-travel-update/ Emirates: https://www.emirates.com/in/english/help/travel-requirements/ Route to London is operated...

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

This is good news. I hope they open the travel via Hong Kong. I don't see Cathay taking any tentative bookings on DEL-YVR route though, at least not for next few weeks.

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

Yes this option has worked for at least one forum user who landed recently : https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/copr-and-coronavirus.681880/post-8739590 There may be more issues, but you should at least try to make sure that you don't have to change airports...

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

Hey y'all, does anybody here knows, how to stay on top of the flight schedule approvals and bookings-open-time for foreign carriers? Seems to me like AI is using it's twitter handle for updates and also getting retweeted by the aviation minister, MoCA and others, but updates for foreign carriers...

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

I'm reasonably confident that schedule for VBM-5 flights to/fro Canada hasn't been announced yet. They opened bookings for London at 2'o clock and I already see folks complaining on twitter that the days they are looking at, it's sold out.

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

Thank you for sharing it! For what it's worth, I think that it's a good plan in your situation at the moment. Also as I'm sure you know already, most (non-immediate) plans, particularly in current times are giong to require regular adjustment or re-assessment which no doubt you'll undertake as...

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

Trying to make one, I guess. :) All I know is that I need at least 4-5 days after booking and before travel to do things which are dependent on travel dates. If I can't make up my mind in next 2 days, I'll put the whole immigration affair on a backburner and move on with rest of the life for...

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

Thank you for sharing this! This clears up things manifold. Yeah, looks like United is going to need a renewal. The way travel to so many countries is being opened, even with restrictions, it would be super helpful, if MoCA keeps an up-to-date page on their site or elsewhere about currently...
