Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

Gee, thanks for the life advice. Shouldn't you be picketing with your fellow privileged federal bureaucrats coworkers for your ridiculous demands instead of posting on this forum? Since you don't agree with anything that anyone is posting here, I don't understand what you're doing here. Do you...

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

I think the bigger lesson here is that one should never trust public workers to do their job. FYI, he applied for renewal in March as a backup plan (before the strike) despite being scheduled for the ceremony already, so your comment is absolutely useless.

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

Have you even read the posts on this forum? 99.9% of people here DO NOT STAND with them and are affected by this strike. But bringing the army on them is only gonna make things worse, not to mention, a massive overreaction and infringement on their right to strike. The fact that they are able to...

https://ottawa.ctvnews.ca/striking-public-servants-block-access-to-government-buildings-and-key-infrastructure-1.6370421 - Didn't they do enough damage already??? Also, not sure if anyone has seen the latest update: https://psacunion.ca/update-psac-ute-bargaining-team-national-strike "However...

We don't live in Russia, fortunately.

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

My partner just got the cancelation email for his ceremony on April 27th from the Calgary office. He won't be able to travel, and he won't be able to renew his PR card or his (other) passport in time.

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

Forget about posting something in that subreddit that can question their strike and demands, you'll get downvoted -100 in 5 minutes and banned, which says a lot about these public workers.

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

Awe, what a s**t show. "I don’t have days! I HAVE to go back to work! Do you have ANY idea of the position you’re putting your OWN members in by keeping us on the line past tomorrow evening!? I can’t sustain this!" - well, this says a lot about PSAC.

On another note, on r/CanadaPublicServants, apparently commuting is considered dangerous for public workers. o_O

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

To give you an example - I wanted a raise last month, so I scheduled a performance review with my superior and brought facts to the table - the value that I added to the company since joining, and my achievements in a nutshell, to which he agreed, and without even asking, he gave me a 10% raise...

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

As someone mentioned here, most of those PR landings were already in Canada (TR to PR pathway), making applications waaaay easier to process. I'm not saying all of them watch cat videos, I'm sure there are good IRCC officers out there that take their job seriously and are on top of it. But those...

I just hope he/she is not processing my application lol, if that's the case.

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

There are people here that have been waiting for more than 2 years to have their applications processed. People that exceeded the posted IRCC processing times. This means that SOMEONE is not doing their job :) and not just in regard to citizenship applications, but all applications. My best...

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

https://www.fraserinstitute.org/tags/public-and-private-compensation - Take a look here and then tell us again that we should feel sorry about the public sector workers. Their demands would be completely ridiculized in the private sector, if asked, after the strike, if they accomplish their...

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

I went to their r/CanadaPublicServants out of curiosity and it made me boil instantly. So much entitlement.

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

Since Justin Trudeau became prime minister, compensation paid to federal employees increased 52 per cent, from $38 billion in 2015 to $58 billion in 2021. Federal employment job growth is three times greater than in the private sector and, at the same time, management fees paid to consultants...

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

But yet they want a 13.5% wage increase. Smh... Let's not forget that they're getting paid out from OUR taxes. At this point, I think it would be fair for the government to hold a referendum and ask us, the taxpayers, if we agree to pay the public workers more. I bet the vote result would be a...

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

I wish I had the energy and time to make up 570 demands lol and present them to my boss so he can have a good laugh. Is it me or do they really, really, badly, need a reality check? Unfortunately, NDP won't back back-to-work legislation so that won't happen. And why would the union want any...

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

The way they do things defies logic and common sense most of the time, unfortunately. I wouldn't be surprised if they reschedule the canceled ceremonies randomly.

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

Rescheduling doesn't mean prioritizing. Rescheduling can happen in 2 months or 2 days. Unless IRCC actually says the word "prioritize", everything is open to interpretation.
