It's felt like a very quiet week overall. (For once everything changed on my profile: ECAS to In Process, medical finally Passed and very little elsewhere which makes a change as I'm so used to seeing nothing on my profile and seeing everyone else zip through). I wonder if they're updating...

It means someone's looking at and/or updating your case. So it's generally good news as it means things are moving for you, but you may not see the actual change for a few days (if at all). Generally a good sign though as I say!

For us it was about a week or two after we got ITA so I don't think it made much difference. However it did cause a lot of mixups leading to many of us still waiting for PPR way down the line as we are. Your friend will hopefully find that his application date stays the same (it did for us)...

In our cases we weren't removed as they conceded it was their error. So it really depends what the cancellation letter says. It should, hopefully, explicitly say he was allocated in error and will be eligible for the next draw.

Don't worry! My medical is still set to In Progress and until a couple of weeks ago wasn't started. I wouldn't be surprised if your case was at the same point as mine, different officers seem to do things differently. It's been a long stressful wait for us but I very much doubt they would...

It's impossible to be accepted for both FSW and CEC. I guess he means he is eligible for both? This could go one of two ways. If he was accepted to CEC then there's nothing to worry about. If he was mistakenly accepted to FSW it gets more tricky: if he didn't submit an education certificate...

This is nothing to worry about. My status changed to BG check in progress in the same week I submitted my CELPIP certificate too... I'm not sure exactly why but it seems to be pretty typical. February applicant applying from inside Canada here, also a Brit.
