    Feb 2015 citizenship applicants

So my husband got a yellow piece of paper in the mail today: "Notice to Appear - To write a citizenship test and/or for verification of identity/documents" Test date in Surrey June 26 at 8:03am. (seriously, 8:03, what happens in the first 3 minutes?) Now to get him to study. Website still...

    Surrey CIC Timeline

Why is Surrey so slow when Vancouver is already sending out test dates for Feb 2015 applicants? sigh :(

Finally some movement for us! 4.Your file was transferred to the Citizenship Surrey office on April 16, 2015. The Citizenship Surrey office will contact you. Now to tell hubby to start studying, not sure how long it will take to get a test date.

    Dual Citizenship

My husband will renounce the moment the IRS starts bugging him for money (after he gets his Canadian citizenship of course). It's currently a pain to try to make sure we don't open the wrong type of account under his name (like a TFSA). Someone mentioned RESP's, I better look into that since...

Thanks! And no I wasn't the first. I saw a couple other people out "in process" dates so figured I'd check ecas.

    Feb 2015 citizenship applicants

Cleo, I feel your frustration. When my husband applied for his PR it was supposed to be a simple outside of Canada spousal sponsorship. Every week/month I'd watch other people on this board post about getting their passport requests and COPR's wondering when it would finally be our turn. I...

I'm going to beat my husband. He got the AOR LAST NIGHT at 7:02pm PST and only checked his email now (even though I've been bugging him daily).

    Feb 2015 citizenship applicants

Just checked the January spreadsheet and wow CIC seems to be speeding up their AOR's. 50+ days at the beginning of the month to about 36 for the later applicants. Hoping to hear something in the next couple weeks!

    Feb 2015 citizenship applicants

Hope it's ok, I added my information to the spreadsheet. Fingers crossed for a speedy process for everyone. Was talking with a coworker last week and his application took about 19 months (became a citizen last October). Although apparently he moved after it was submitted it caused a delay (he...

    Feb 2015 citizenship applicants

In BC they are phasing out the separate health card, now combined with the driver's license. So for my husband's application we included 2 copies of the PR card. One for that requirement and another for the "2 pieces of ID" with his drivers license. He didn't have anything else that included...

    Feb 2015 citizenship applicants

Husband's application was received at Sydney on Monday. He was eligible to apply since July 4, 2014 (I got a chuckle out of this) but kept putting it off (he had 1263 days after absences when we applied). Then they jacked the fees up Jan 1 and I cried. Since we have a baby on the way I...

Question - how does CIC using CBSA Report

OMG I really hope my husband doesn't have to declare every day trip to the US. We have no record of them. We live less than 10km to the border and go shopping in Washington state sometimes. Also we're frequently picking up packages from a postal office in Sumas and these trips are like 30min...

New application, starting to get everything together

Hello everyone!! After my husband's 13 month PR application we're back and getting ready to file for Citizenship for him. I figured with a 24 month average wait and his PR card good until Oct 2016, best to start now. I started doing our homework and found the online calculator for the number...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

We applied for the $75 visitor extension by mail and received PPR before the extension was processed (over 6 months backlog for those). CIC gave us our $75 back without even asking!
