Yes! A couple of us have received PPR. No one can say what the next update could be. It's depends on your peculiar situation. My background is still not needed at this time and i got PPR. Just b patient, you'll get it very soon.

They usually prefer that your passport has a MINIMUM of 6 months validity before PPR so I'd say If your AOR is jan 2016,you have at least till August 2016 to get PPR which gives you more than one year validity on your passport, i.e September 2016 to October 2017,so NO, you don't need to renew...
